Who runs this site?
Pretty much just me! My name is Kim and I'm a 30-something married mother who
lives in the UK. I have help with various sections from friends of mine, but
mostly it's all done by me.
When did the site open?
My very first update on the site was the17th February 2006. The show had only
recently begun airing in the UK at that time.
Do you need any help?
At the moment, thanks but no. I'm a bit of an obsessive-compulsive and I like
to keep full control of the content on the site. That said, if you have any
suggestions, please feel free to email
them to me.
Why don't you have wallpapers / icons / a message board on the site?
The idea of Winchester Journals was to provide information about the show.
There are some other wonderful websites out there which provide message boards
and user-created graphics, so I dont think it's necessary for me to add those
to this site.
Why don't you have a spoilers section?
Because I don't like spoilers :) I am aware that there are some spoilers in
a couple of the exclusive interviews, but on the whole, I avoid them. So, while
I run the site, it will remain - mostly - spoiler free.
How do you get the exclusive interviews on the site?
The same way any other site or magazine does - I get contact details for the
persons management and get in touch. If you're somehow involved with the show
and would be willing to allow me to interview you, please email
me!
Do you know Jared/Jensen/Eric personally?
Sadly, no. I am just a fan like you. I have met Jensen at the official Supernatural
convention in the UK in May 2007, but that is it! This means that if you send
me an email addressed to one of them, it will quickly end up in my deleted items
folder. And it is quite likely that I will laugh at you.....
What do you consider canon?
In the first instance, the information on this site comes from the episodes
themselves. I consider this to be my primary source and will be counted as canon.
Second to that are deleted scenes (published on the DVD's), tie-in novels, comics
and other officially licenced merchandise (secondary sources). If, however,
there is a contradiction between something mentioned in an episode and information
from a secondary source, the information in the episode is considered to be
the right one. The only exception to this is when information (such as a date
or a name) comes from a prop seen on-screen. If this is directly contradicted
by a secondary source, that secondary source will be considered canon. The reason
for this is that it has been mentioned that many times, a prop is created for
the show without the propmaster knowing full details. An example of this is
the episode Time Is On My Side, in which a receipt from a hotel is seen. The
date on that receipt cannot possibly be accurate according to the timeline established
in Lazarus Rising.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time or resources to check episode listings
for every country.

What is the difference between the aired version of the pilot episode and
the "unaired version" that I keep hearing about?
The unaired pilot was the version shown to the networks when the show was first
planned. By the time the show aired, a few minor differences had been made to
the pilot episode.
