Like many of her fellow Israelis, Alona spent some time in the Israeli Army before starting her career. She starred in two Israeli TV shows and then moved to New York, where she met singer Wyclef Jean and recorded a song with him. Despite her true love being music, she is a talented young actress and was actually in line for the title role on Veronica Mars. She was director Rob Thomas' second choice for the role and he even wrote the recurring role of Meg Manning especially for her.
